A Super XP Tweak?

leave a comment »

I found this article while on the net. It is from TheInquirer.net, so I’m not sure how reliable their information is. This XP tweak was leaked after it was found in Longhorn, and it is supposed to speed up performance. I’ve tried it but I have only noticed a slight speedup in bootup.

What you basically have to do is go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\Prefetcher in the Registry and add the two DWORD entries “EnablePrefetch”=”3” and “EnableSuperfetch”=”1”.
