ATI Radeon X1900XTX & nVidia 7900GTX – Drool baby!
As if graphics card power couldn’t get any powerful! Yes, the two GPU giants have again launched their new lines of graphics cards (mainly in competition with each other). After a short time of both the ATI Radeon X1800 and the nVidia 7800 showing off their stuff, the manufacaturers have launched the new X1900 and 7900 GPUs respectively. These pieces of metal and plastic are the new high-end graphics cards that any die-hard PC gamer would drool over!
I’ve found some reviews of these cards showing benchmarks and recommendations. As time proceeds you can search for reviews that throw the two monsters head on into each other to see who comes out on top!
These cards will sure be great, just like their predecessors were in their time. I can still remember when the Geforce 5900 Ultra and the Radeon X800XL were the bad boys on the street. Now, with the technology of nVidia’s SLI and ATI’s new Crossfire, which use dual graphics cards, these monsters will be unstoppable! SLI is now even supporting use of different manufacturers in their setups (as long as the GPU base is the same) in their new Forceware 80 drivers.
With all this hype comes a price, unfortunately. 😦 Yeah, these babies are going to cost you quite a bit. Right now I have an Radeon X800XL (PCI-e) and it’s plenty powerful for the graphics I throw at it. I would really like to put SLI to the test on my Asus A8N SLI-Deluxe motherboard, but until I can get the cash and prices go down on the GPUs I will have to wait this one out.
Now wipe your mouth…!
